Vojtěch Skácel, Karel Klusoň, David Helán: Čičina při činuArbor Klamovka, park Klamovka, Prague 5November 14, 2017 - November 25, 2017
An opening of the exhibition on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, from 6 p. m. Curator: Lenka Sýkorová Presentation of Garage Gallery within the project actiongalleries.info. The Garage Gallery has built up a strong and very unique position on the cultural scene in Zlín during the nearly five years of its existence. The Actions organized by V. Skácel, an artist, gallerist and curator in one, have a specific and irreplaceable atmosphere that stems from Skácel’s opinions on art aesthetics and, in a way, on life aesthetics as well. The Garage Gallery is unique because these two levels of aesthetics blend together here and create an entirety. This is exactly what makes the Garage Gallery a certain antipode to classical galleries and art presentations that are nowadays more or less associated with the art market and marketing. In this context, the Garage Gallery has different goals: it wants to present art as a process, an action, a game, an opportunity to meet and to let forms, opinions and views come together. The Garage Gallery is thus becoming an indispensable independent space that every city needs for a free interaction in culture and, in consequence, in the aesthetics of life itself. The exhibition for the Altán Klamovka Gallery will be prepared by Vojtěch Skácel and Karel Klusoň and the performance during the vernissage will be presented by David Helán. These three artists know each other and have already collaborated in the past. The exhibition will, of course, document the Garage Gallery’s Actions during the past five years, including graphical posters, which represent an essential part of individual GAGs, photographs and video documentation of the events and performances created in the Garage Gallery. They will prepare for the Altán Klamovka Gallery an exhibition, installation – situation – gag, a moment showing how simple things are in their actual state and how they feel at the place itself in order to facilitate the perception of the place as a natural and playful space and to experience the present of the space. authors of exhibition |
