The exhibition of Adriena Šimotová and Jiří John focuses on the work of this author duo, linked with the region. Jiří John was born in Třešť and in his work he drew inspiration from childhood and youth in the countryside and from observing natural processes. He is one of the most prominent representatives of the generation entering the scene in the 1950s, although his work unfolded in a marginal way on the edge of the dominant artistic tendencies. Like Jiří John, Adriena Šimotová was a founding member of the UB12 group. She is also a distinctive solitaire, inventing new approaches, especially in paperwork. The exhibition will explore possible mutual influences and will re-evaluate the position of the work of both artists.
