Painter Igor Grimmich (born 1979), a graduate of Michael Rittstein's painting studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, fascinates with stories in absurd magical settings. Illogical situations in the environment of dreamscapes, utopian visions with an almost existential overlap or scenes seen from a bird's eye view. Landscape or figurative subjects turn into mystification. They create uncertainty. Scientific or historical knowledge is a source for other questions, but exact answers are lacking. And everything can be different in reality. Even the key to the exhibition may not be so easy to discover.
